Case Presentation

Patient Background

Age: 32 years old

Symptoms: Difficulty breathing through both nostrils, worse at night. Dissatisfaction with nose size and shape, including a noticeable bump.

Concerns: The patient felt her nose was too large and didn't match her facial proportions.

Surgical Procedures

Cosmetic Rhinoplasty: To address the shape and size of the nose.

Septoplasty: To correct a deviated septum.

Turbinate Reduction: Removal of enlarged turbinate bones causing nasal blockage.

Post Operative Course

Breathing: Clearer, unrestricted breathing.

Appearance: The bump on her nose was gone, and the nose appeared smaller and more proportional to her face.

Recovery Process

Upper Nose (Bridge): Swelling decreases over 4-6 weeks. The reduction in size is noticeable immediately as the bump is typically removed during surgery.

Nasal Tip: Swelling takes 4-6 months to fully decrease. The size reduction is noticeable immediately after surgery, but the fine details become evident as the swelling subsides.

Conclusion

The combination of cosmetic rhinoplasty and septoplasty not only improved the patient's breathing but also enhanced the overall appearance of her nose, making it more proportionate to her facial features. The patient was highly satisfied with both the functional and aesthetic outcomes of her surgery.
