Fly In Patients

Making Your Journey Seamless and Comfortable

Fly-In Patients

Do you feel like Dr. Newman and his Surgery Center are a perfect fit for you but not ideally located? We see patients flying in to see Dr. Newman all the time! Each year, more out-of-area patients visit Dr. Newman’s Surgery Center, whether they are new patients or previous patients returning for additional procedures. We welcome you warmly.

To streamline the pre-procedure process and make your stay pleasant and effortless, we've put together a travel package to simplify this important experience.

Please note that we are unable to book your flights or make travel arrangements for you, but we are happy to recommend the best airports and hotel accommodations. Our office is conveniently located next to the Hampton Inn and Suites.

Step One: Phone Consultation

The first step is to contact our office at (951) 698-3344 to set up an appointment for a consultation with Dr. Newman and his nursing staff.

  • For Existing Patients: Please send recent photographs of your progress.

  • For New Patients: Please send photographs of the areas matching the desired procedure. You can refer to example photos on our site to replicate them in terms of size and angle of view.

Email these photographs to us, and Dr. Newman will review them during your telephone consultation. Our office will call you at the scheduled date and time, and you will speak with the director of our nursing staff regarding your procedure.

During your conversation with Dr. Newman, he will discuss any medical issues, answer your questions and concerns, explain available alternatives, discuss the risks and benefits of procedures, and give his recommendations. While a phone consultation cannot replace an in-person visit, it is a crucial and convenient first step.

After your consultation, the patient coordinator will provide an exact quote for the cost of your surgery based on your discussion with Dr. Newman. You can then schedule a convenient date for your procedure, allowing adequate time for recovery.

Step Two: Preoperative Phone Conversation

Once your procedure date is set, our scheduling coordinator will arrange a telephone preoperative appointment. The patient care coordinator will send prescriptions for your labs and medications, which can be obtained in your hometown and faxed directly to us. If Dr. Newman requests a clearance letter for your procedure, obtain this from your private medical doctor or a specialist in your hometown.

The nurse will review your after-care instructions, send you a copy, and ensure we have received all pertinent labs and letters. The nurse will also call you three days before your procedure to finalize any travel or accommodation questions and provide the exact time to report to the Surgery Center.

Step Three: Day Prior to Surgery

It's crucial for Dr. Newman to see you the day before surgery to examine you, review your procedure, and take a complete set of photographs.

Step Four: Day of Surgery

On the day of surgery, arrive at the predetermined time to the Surgery Center with your relatives and/or friends. Anyone accompanying you can leave and be available by phone. We will call them upon completion of your procedure.

We aim to make your stay with us both pleasant and productive, and we will do everything in our power to achieve these goals. Below is a list of nearby services:
